About this provider
Swim classes are grouped by age and skill level, and small classes mean swimmers may share a class with slightly older or younger children. 1 All classes teach breath control and body position, starting with moving through the water on the back so the swimmer can keep breathing. 5 Beginners learn to jump in, flip to their backs, float, then exit the water, and they begin front strokes only after mastering the three back strokes. 8 Advanced swimmers work on their front strokes: freestyle, breast stroke and butterfly. 15

Our classes are separated by age and skill level.
-
Due to our boutique styled swim instruction and small class sizes, some swimmers may swim
-
with others who are slightly older or younger. Our skills-driven curriculum allows for continued learning
-
by all students in every class even with others of different ages and skill levels.
-
All of our classes concentrate on proper Breath Control and Body Position in the water,
-
and we focus 1st on navigating the water on our backs (to maintain the ability
-
to breathe without interruption).
-
All students in Beginner classes practice submerged exhalation but do not work on any front
-
strokes (Freestyle/Front Crawl, Breast Stroke, Butterfly) until having mastered breath control and body position for
-
the 3 back strokes (Elementary Back, Rudimentary Back, Olympic Back).
-
All Beginner Students start with learning to Jump into the water;
-
Flip to their backs; and Float safely in the pool.
-
Beginners then learn to navigate & exit the water. They then progress through the 3
-
back strokes (Elementary Back; Rudimentary Back; Olympic Back).
-
Advanced Swimmers are all working on their front strokes (Freestyle/Front Crawl, Breast Stroke, and Butterfly).
-
Elementary (Beginner and Advanced) – 5 to 8 years
